EAST SCHOOL HOLDS "CULVER'S NIGHT"
In May 2008, East School had a Culver's Night. Teachers gathered at the Culver's restaurant in Libertyville and "worked" for the three hours from 5 to 8 pm. Culver's gave 10% of the proceeds from all food sold during that time to KidsUganda. We made just over $300 - and Culver's had over $3000 worth of food purchased that evening! East School families came and loved having their food served to them by the teachers. It was an amazing evening!

OTHER WAYS TO HELP
People have helped the children of the Maranatha schools in innovative ways, such as:
- Having a lemonade stand
- Holding a garage sale (see below)
- Asking schoolchildren to donate $3, the cost of a chicken
- "Culver's Night" (see sidebar, left)
- Car wash
Neighbors Hold a Garage Sale for KidsUganda
On June 14th, several families held a garage sale at the home of Mary and Dave Andersen to benefit KidsUganda. Community Church members, friends, and neighbors contributed items including housewares, furniture, sporting equipment, books, clothes, and toys, and worked from 9 - 3 bartering and selling as much as possible. The sale raised over $2,100. Several younger children sold baked goods and lemonade to earn $100 toward this amount. Items not sold were donated to the Salvation Army, Friends of the Lake Forest Library, and First Presbyterian Church in Lake Forest.
